Thanks to Rogue Valley Naturals, Southern Oregon and our close neighbors in Northern California, will now have access to freshly harvested produce all year round!
Rogue Valley Naturals is a small family-owned farm which is in the business of producing an assortment of wholesome, delicious fruit and top quality vegetable produce, in a self-sustaining, earth-friendly environment. Our winter crops incorporate the use of hydroponics and aeroponics. Hydroponics and aeroponics are methods for growing plants in water.
Researchers have determined that produce properly grown in water is cleaner, safer and more nutritious than those vegetables grown in soil. Soil-based diseases are eliminated and the incidence of insect damage is greatly reduced. "Hydroponics is soil-less gardening. It means more food in less space with less water in less time," explains Dan Lubkeman, President of the Hydroponic Society of America, an organization that has helped hobbyists and commercial growers from twenty-three countries on five continents since 1979.
OUR OBJECTIVE
At Rogue Valley Naturals, our objective is to provide the local population with the safest, freshest produce on the market, at a fair and reasonable price, while staying true to our goals of remaining environmentally responsible.
By supporting your local growers, you will be getting fresh-picked produce that your whole family will enjoy. Since it's local - there are no long distance delivery delays, exorbitant transportation costs and cross-contamination issues en route.
We will be offering our neighbors in southern Oregon, and a couple of local chefs, the opportunity to choose from several different varieties of tomatoes and lettuce* Our produce is picked the morning of delivery, so freshness and flavor are of the highest quality. We anticipate having our produce in at least two of the local grocery stores, after the local growers markets have closed for the season. While we are currently focusing on a variety of fruit, tomatoes and salad greens, we are also working with an assortment of herbs, beans, tomatoes and peppers.
LOCATION
Rogue Valley Naturals is located on the outskirts of the quaint, scenic town of Ashland, Oregon and is nestled in the south-facing rolling hills, overlooking the beautiful Rogue Valley. The area is known for it's fabulous orchards, vineyards, expansive gardens, wild rivers, gorgeous lakes and, of course, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Harry & Davids, famous for it's delicious fruits (especially pears), is headquartered in Medford, just a few miles away. And yet, when winter arrives, Southern Oregon, just like most of the U.S., receives many of it's vegetables from other countries. Have you ever wondered where your produce is coming from? ... Under what conditions were the crops grown? ... How sanitary were the storage and shipping containers? ... How carefully has the produce been handled? ... and ... How long did it take to reach your grocery story?

Now you'll have a choice, regardless of the season. Freshness is always "in good taste" and through the magic of hydroponics, our salad produce will be as fresh as it gets. We at Rogue Valley Naturals hope our neighbors in Southern Oregon and Northern California will be able to enjoy the fruits (or should we say the "vegetables") of our labor.
